rod whitman, golf course designer This refreshing return to golf in the month of the Masters has golfers at the Wolf excited and the word is; the Wolf is playing great.

Golf course designer Rod Whitman has been out and brought us some new looks to the Old Course. Rod’s vision to improve the playability of holes 2, 4 and 12 of the Old Course has been met with rave reviews.

Here’s what you have to look forward to:

  • Trees on the left side of #2 have been removed providing much improved visuals to the left side of the fairway.
  • The left side of #4 has also seen the removal of a couple trees again improving players sight lines from the tee.
  • Hole #12 on the Old Course has everyone buzzing with the removal of the large spruce tree on the left side of the fairway near the 150 marker. Taking this tree out now gives players the chance to do their best Bubba Watson impression and curve the ball around the trees from the fairway.

Superintendent Mike Stewart and his crew have been extremely busy getting the course into fine form along with removing rails all around the course allowing carts into the fairways on a 90 degree basis and giving the paths a much cleaner look. Mike and his crew are very excited for the season and having The Wolf at its best.

Normally we don’t take pictures in April but the Wolf is a benefitting from a great early spring, if you use your imagination you’d swear you were just airlifted to Scotland or Ireland!!!
